Club sessions occur weekly throughout the year (see schedule for more details) and are open to high school, USATF Junior Olympic youth and collegiate athletes with an emphasis on hammer and weight throw. Sessions are tailored to each athlete and what they want to improve on. 

 

Membership to the club is free, however there may be fees associated with shoe rentals and other club activities. You will be notified of any additional fees in advance.

 

We ask that potential new club members contact us or attend a clinic.

Our roster size will be limited to make sure practices are 2 hours or less. Throwers should bring water and are expected to have throwing shoes.  If you don't have throwing shoes you can rent them from the club for $2 per day. Implements are provided by the Southern Indiana Throws Club and remain the property of Damien Kalvar. You are free to bring your own regulation implements if you prefer.

You must sign our waiver of liability before participating.

Parking is available on gravel off of the driveway closest to the red house - please do not park on the drive closest to the throwing cage, it is a shared drive and should not be blocked.

As of March 1, 2025 we are limiting our practices to high school and older with a few select dates reserved for middle school athletes who were prior members or have attended a clinic.

 

We are working with athletes who primarily want to learn hammer throw so they can be recruited for college. For collegiate athletes we offer coaching during the off season and coaching support during the season.

​

There will be a middle school clinic available March 22, 2025.
